There are 2 main information panels on the Lobby Screen:

  • Main Panel displays Events that are within the next 24 hours of being started, ready for sign-up, wait listed or already started. If you click on/highlight a single game on the Main Panel, you can see more information about the Event by looking on the Side Panel to the right of the Main Panel
  • Side Panel tells when sign up for the Game begins, the Game's start time and number, the type of Game being played, buy-in and prize pool (if any) and the amount of starting chips (for tournaments). Click on 'View Structure' button to see what the structure of the game is and how frequently the rounds will change.

If you highlight a Tournament, you can also click on the 'Tournament Info' button at the bottom of the Lobby screen. If the game already started, this will display detailed information about the status of the tables and players at each table as well as their chip count. You can also click on the 'Observe Table' button within the Tournament Info Screen if you want to watch, but not play in, the tournament.

If you highlight a Satellite or Ring Game in progress, you can observe the game by clicking on the 'Observe Table' button just below the Lobby's Main Panel.

Select Your Favorite Event

By default, the Lobby shows the schedule for all types of games currently available for you to sign up to join, tournaments that will start within the next 24 hours, and games already started (which you can observe).

Alternately, you can view the schedule for your favorite Type of Games by clicking on the Tab above the Lobby corresponding to the game type you wish to see, from a list that includes: Hold'em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, 7-Card Stud, 7-Card Stud Hi/Lo.

Likewise, you can select the Type of Event you want to see, by clicking on the Tab above the Lobby corresponding to the Event type, including: Tournaments, Satellites and Ring Games.

After you select the method and amount of your deposit, you will be notified that your transaction is complete.
In the future, just click the 'Cashier' button (from the Lobby) for Real-Money Deposits and Withdrawal options.

Now that you've funded your account you are Ready to Play and have some Fun!

Join an Event

To join an Event, highlight any Event on the Main Panel of the Lobby that says 'Sign Up' or 'Wait List' under its status column, then click the 'Join Event' button located at the bottom of the Lobby screen (just below the Main Panel). Notice that the right side panel now shows details about the game you selected.

RING GAMES: If you wish to join a Ring Game and it has seats available at its table, it will say 'Started' under its status column. Just click 'Join Event' and you will be immediately seated at the table and be ready to play.

You can choose your own seat at a ring game table, by selecting "Go To Table" from the lounge and pressing the "Sit Down" button of your choice. You will then be allowed to buy-in to the table.

If the Ring Game you wish to join is already full, the status column will display the word 'Wait List'. If you click on the word 'Wait List' for that game, you'll see a display of how many players are waiting for that particular game. If you click on the 'Join Event' button, your name will be added to that Wait List. If you click on the word 'Wait List' for that Ring game again, you'll now see how many players are waiting for that particular game as well as your position on the wait list.

When you are ready to be seated at the Ring Game you will receive a pop-up screen asking if you would like to join the table. You will have 30 seconds to respond before the next person on the wait list is invited to join.

You can also reserve a seat from the waiting list. When you are called from the waiting list, you will be asked if you would still like the reserved seat- at that time you may choose any seat available.

If you have had a reserved seat, When you leave a Ring Game table, a confirmation window will appear beforehand notifying you that leaving the table will unreserve your seat.

TOURNAMENTS AND SATELLITES: If you wish to join a Tournament or Satellite, the status column will display the word 'Sign Up' (since there is no limit to the number of players that can join- new tables will keep being added). Click on the 'Join Event' button. A new small screen will pop up with a message confirming your entry into the event. Click 'OK'. Your name will be added to the Player List for that event. If you click on the word 'Sign Up' for that event again, you will see your name is now on the list of players for that event shown on the right panel.

Until the event starts, you can leave the lobby screen open, close it, or minimize it.

If you close the Lobby Screen, you'll need to double click the BugsysClub desktop icon again and get to the Lobby Screen before the start of the event.

If you've left the program open and running (or minimized it), at the scheduled start time of the event, the program will automatically open a new screen, called the 'Table Screen', and seat you at a table. Since tournaments consist of multiple tables, you will be randomly assigned a seat at one of the tournament tables, whose table number/name is noted in the upper left corner of the screen.

Let us now look at the action at a Poker Table.

lobby

Play Poker-General Instructions

When you are seated at a table, you'll see seats around the poker table with UserNames and chip counts at each seat location. If you're playing, your UserName will be at a particular seat, with your chip count displayed.

RING GAMES: You will initially come to the game 'Sitting out'. See the 3 buttons at the bottom right of the Table Screen: 'Sit in', 'Sit in on BB'(big blind), and 'Sit out'. To enter the game click on either 'Sit in' or 'Sit in on BB'.

Notice that there is a button on the table. This button passes in front of each player, indicating when it is each player's turn to act, beginning with the Big Blind.

Cards are then dealt to all players. You will see only the cards you've been dealt. Now the excitement begins!

When it is your turn to act, you have a number of Poker Betting options to choose from(we'll discuss these in detail right after Chat section), the same way you would in a live game:

  • Bet Pot/ Raise Pot ; Bet All In / Raise All In ; Bet $Amount / Raise $Amount ; Check / Call $Amount.
  • Slide Bar or Amount field to place your bet.
  • Fold ; Check/Fold ; Call
  • Muck Losing Hands; Post and Fold

A timer indicates you have 20 seconds to act. You can click 'Time' again for another 20 seconds before you time out.

Results & Chat Panel

One of the first things you'll want to do is to select which functions you want to appear in the Results and Chat Panel. Click on the drop-down arrow on the top far right of the Results and Chat Panel. These choices will appear:

  1. Quiet- nothing will appear in the Results and Chat Panel if you select this option.
  2. Chat- you will see only chat between players and observers at your table.
  3. Results & Chat- in addition to chat (as described above), you'll see the results of every hand at the end of each hand played at your table.
  4. Results Only- you'll see only the results of every hand at the end of each hand played at your table.
  5. Play & Chat- in addition to chat (as described above), you'll see a description of the play by play actions taken during the play of the hand leading up to and including the results.
  6. Play Only- you'll see only a description of the play by play actions taken during the play of the hand leading up to and including the results.
  7. Everything- Not only do you see Play & Chat (as described above), but also you see starting chips at the beginning of every hand. Luckily these are color coded so you can easily sort them.

In addition, you can also filter out the chat of either players, observers or both by clicking on the toggle boxes above the Results and Chat Panel. When the 'x' shows, then that chat type is displayed. Click on the 'x' and the 'x' disappears as well as the corresponding future chat.

To Chat

To chat with other players or observers at your table, find the small box beside the word 'Type' at the bottom of the Results and Chat Panel and place your cursor within that box and click. [A shortcut to getting your cursor in position for typing chat messages is to simultaneously press the 'Alt' and 'Y' keys on your keyboard. Notice on the word 'Type' that the 'y' is underscored. This tells you to use the 'y' key with the 'Alt' key as a shortcut].

You can now begin typing your message. No one sees your message at this point.

When you've finished typing press 'Enter' on your keyboard to post the message so players and observers at your table can see your message and respond. It's in your best interest to keep your messages short, to keep the flow of the conversation(s) going.

To see the latest posted messages, make sure that the scroll bar on the far right of the Results and Chat Panel is dragged down to the bottom of the panel. You can scroll up to see past Results and Chat.

Function Buttons for Playing Poker

Below the table graphic there are a number of function buttons. The buttons change over time depending on the time of play. You use these buttons to select your actions during the play of a hand, as follows:

At Time of Play Buttons - these sit below the table graphic, on the left side

  • Bet Pot/ Raise Pot If you are first to act and you wish to bet the pot, this button will bet the full amount shown in the pot at that time. If any one has made a bet before it's your turn to act, then this button will change to 'Raise Pot' and will call the prior player's bet and then raise the entire amount in the pot, including your call.
  • Bet All In / Raise All In If you are first to act and you wish to bet all in, this button will bet the full amount of your bankroll. If any one has made a bet before it's your turn to act, then this button will change to 'Raise All In' and will call the previous bet and raise the rest of your bankroll.
  • Bet $Amount / Raise $Amount When it's your turn to play, if you are first to act, this button will say 'Bet $Amount' where $Amount will be equal to the big blind. You can increase the amount of your bet by either dragging the Slide Bar or typing in the exact amount into the 'Amount' box and then clicking the 'Bet' button.

If there has been action before you, then the Bet button will say 'Raise $Amount' where $Amount equals the amount that has been bet. You'll also notice that the 'Check' button now says 'Call'. You can either raise by the default amount (or increase it using the slide bar or directly typing in the amount in the 'Amount' box), or you can click the 'Call' button.

  • Check / Call $Amount If there's been no action before you or you are first to act and you want to check, click on this button. If there has been action before you, then the Bet button will say 'Call $Amount' where $Amount equals the amount that has been previously bet.
  • Fold At any time when it's your turn to act, you can fold by clicking this button. The only time you should not use this button is if you are first to act, in which case you should check.
  • Time When it's your turn to act, a timer will start and you'll have 20 seconds to act. If you want extra time to make your decision, click the 'Time' button and you'll be given another 20 seconds before you time out.
  • Timing Out When you have timed out, a new small screen will appear warning you that you have timed out. You can return to the game by clicking 'return to the game' button.
  • Slide Bar You have 2 ways to place a bet. You can use the slide bar to place your bet by dragging the bar to the right or left. This changes the amount of your bet from a low of '0' to a high of your entire bankroll. You can watch the amount changing in the 'Amount' box. When you've reached the amount you want to bet, you need to click on the 'Bet' button. Alternately you can place a bet by typing the exact amount you wish to bet directly into the 'Amount' box, and again clicking on the 'Bet' button.
  • Amount Box This sits above the slider bar. Type the exact amount you wish to bet or raise in the 'Amount' box, and then click the 'Bet' or 'Raise' button. Also, see Slide Bar above for an alternate way to place a bet.

Forward Action Buttons - these buttons Make the Game go Faster. They sit below the table graphic, in the middle.

  • Fold If you know you are going to fold, you can check this box ahead of time, and it will fold the current hand only when it is your turn to act.
  • Check/Fold You can use this button if you are going to check if there is no action before it's your turn to act, or you are going to fold if there is action before you.
  • Muck Losing Hands (enabled at all tables by default) If you check this box, it will remain checked for the whole game or until you uncheck it, and your losing hands at show-down will not be shown to the other players. You can also choose this interactively at showdown in all games.
  • Show Winning Hands (above the chat log) This allows for showing of a winning hand after all other players fold. You can also choose this interactively at showdown in all games.
  • Auto-post blinds (ring games) automatically posts future blinds/antes for you
  • Sit out next hand keeps your seat but you will not be dealt any cards until you de-select this option
  • Sit out on Blind (ring games) This enables you to sit out of the game and not post your blinds. However, if you do this to re-enter the game before it is your turn to post the blinds, you will have to post any missed blind amounts or wait until it is your turn to post the blinds.
  • Wait for Big Blind (ring games). This enables you to sit out of the game until it is your turn to post the Big Blind.
  • Post and Fold (tournaments only) This button is for the times when you want to step away from the computer. When checked, it will automatically post your blinds and fold your hand when it's your turn to act.
  • Auto Post Ante (stud only) When this is clicked, the software doesn't need to ask whether you want to ante in; it's done automatically for you. This speeds up a stud game a lot.

  • When someone is sitting out of a ring game, you can see the number of hands until they are allowed to site out before being removed from the table on display below the 'Rejoin Game' button.

  • All-in Protection:
    • All-in protection is now implemented in ring games for players that are disconnected or otherwise unable to respond.
    • The number of all-ins currently available to a player is displayed above the chat log, for games that allow all-in protection. Additional notification will be displayed before a player is allowed to buy-in to a ring game if either all-in protection is not allowed at the table or the player has no all-ins left for the day.
