Getting Started

This is a step-by-step guide on how to get started playing at Pacific Poker. Please make sure that you are connected to the Internet throughout.

  1. Click the Pacific Poker "DOWNLOAD" button. You can find the button on our Website's Home Page and the left hand side of our Website's inner pages.
  2. Choose "Save this program to disk" and click "OK". You will be asked to select a location to save the "PacificPoker.exe" file.
  3. Select a location. We suggest that you choose your Windows Desktop, as in the example below; this is normally the default setting. Press "Save".
    Please Note: If you have decided to save the program in a different folder, remember the exact location you saved it in.


    The file will start downloading to your computer, and you will see a status bar indicating its progress:

2. How to Install

  1. Go to your Desktop (or the location where you chose to save the program) and double click on the Pacific Poker icon:

  1. If you cannot find the icon on your Desktop, follow these steps:

    a. Press the "Start" menu on the bottom left corner of your screen.
    b. Choose "Find" and then press "Files or Folders...".
    c. Type "PacificPoker.exe" inside the white window labeled "Named".
    d. Press "Find Now".
    e. Double click on the icon, once you have located the file.

    If you receive a "Corrupt installation detected" message when clicking on the icon, click here: Corrupt Installation.

    You will now see our Installation Wizard. The Installation Wizard will take you through the installation process in the fastest and friendliest way possible. The Wizard will start downloading the Pacific Poker software, a process that should not take more than 7-10 minutes, using a standard 56KB/sec modem.


  2. Once the Wizard completes the download process, you will be presented with our "Terms and Conditions" page. Please read this page carefully.

    If you do not wish to accept the Terms and Conditions, press "Cancel" and the installation process will be discontinued. If you accept the Terms and Conditions, press "I Agree". You will be asked to select a destination for the installed files.


  3. Select the desired location. We recommend using the default destination, as in the example below, by simply pressing "Next".



    The installation process will begin and you will see this screen:


  4. Upon completion of the installation process, you are ready to play for the first time. Please choose whether you wish to play for “Real Money” or for “Demo Money” by pressing the appropriate button.

     

3. Playing for the First Time - Demo Money

  1. At the end of the installation process you will already be at the Pacific Poker Login screen. Press "Play for Demo Money".

     

  2. Press "NEW PLAYER CLICK HERE!".


  3. You will be presented with the "Demo Money" Registration screen. Please enter your preferred Username (4-9 characters, letters and numbers only).

    Enter your Email Address. This step is optional, however, doing so will enable us to provide you with technical support and send you notices of upgrades, Bonuses and special promotions. Your Email Address will be used for these purposes only, and will be kept strictly confidential. Please double check to make sure that your Email Address is correct. Press "Submit Registration".


  4. You will receive an Online reply from our server with your Pacific Poker Demo Money Username and Password. After writing down your Username and Password, press "OK".
     

  5. You will now be returned to the login screen. Enter your Pacific Poker Demo Money Username and Password and press "Login".
     
  6. Once in the Poker Lobby, select the Pacific Poker Table that you wish to play at by clicking on its name and then "Join Table". Good Luck!
     

4. Playing for the First Time - Real Money

  1. At the end of the installation process you will already be at the Pacific Poker Lobby entrance. Press "Play for Real Money".
     
  2. Press "NEW PLAYER CLICK HERE!".
     
  3. You will be presented with the "Real Money Registration" screen. Please enter your information in the required fields and press “Submit Registration”.
     
  4. You will receive an Online reply, from our server, with your Pacific Poker Real Money Username and Password. After writing down your Username and Password, press "OK".
     
  5. You will now return to the login screen. Enter your Pacific Poker Real Money Username and Password and press "Login".
     
  6. Once in the Pacific Poker Lobby, press "Cashier" to make a Deposit to your Pacific Poker Account. This will allow you to play at Pacific Poker for Real Money.
     
  7. After you have Deposited to your Pacific Poker Account, select the Pacific Poker Table that you wish to play at by clicking on its name and then on "Join Table".

5. The Next Time You Want to Play

  1. Double-click on the Pacific Poker icon, which is located on your Windows Desktop.


    If you cannot see the Pacific Poker icon, go to the Start menu at the bottom left corner of your screen. Choose "Programs" => "Pacific Poker" => "Pacific Poker":

  2. You will now see the Pacific Poker Lobby entrance. Choose “Real Money” or “Demo Money” play.
     
  3. You will be presented with the appropriate login screen. Enter your Pacific Poker Username and Password (“Demo Money” or “Real Money” Play). Press "Login".
     


    You may now choose a game, and begin playing.

Presently, Pacific Poker's software performs with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems Version 95 and above.

If you are a Mac user you cannot presently play at Pacific Poker.

Pacific Poker is not currently available for Web TV users.

How Long Does the Download Process Take?

The average download time is 7-10 minutes, using a standard 56KBS Modem. The actual file size is about 3MB. Our engineers have utilized sophisticated algorithms, making the Pacific Poker program the smallest downloadable Poker software on the Internet, without compromising on amazing 3D graphics and cutting edge features.

What are the System Requirements for My PC?

PC System Requirements:
Presently, Pacific Poker's software performs with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems Version 95 and above. Pacific Poker does not support Windows 3.XX or Web TV. For optimal results, set your monitor to 600 X 800 pixels and high color (16 bit) or more.

Why Can't I Connect to Pacific Poker?

  1. In some cases, you will not be able to connect to Pacific Poker if your computer is using a Firewall or Proxy Server. Consult your Network Administrator, NSP (Network Service Provider) or ISP (Internet Service Provider) support service or use another connection.

  2. If a connection error has occurred, please try again in a few minutes. If the problem persists, please use the "Contact Us" link to notify us.

  3. You might have been temporarily disconnected from the server, which may be due to Internet connection problems.

Why Can't I Find the "Pacific Poker" Icon on My Desktop?

If the "Pacific Poker" icon is not on your desktop and you can't remember where you saved it, please follow these steps:

  1. Press on the "Start" menu at the bottom left corner of your screen.
  2. Choose "Search" and then "For Files or Folders".
  3. Where it asks for the file "Name", enter "PacificPoker.exe" (without the quotation marks) and then press "Find Now".
  4. The computer will now search for the file.
  5. If you receive a file named "PacificPoker.exe" under the "Name" or "Search Results" section, in the white window, it means the file was found. Double click on it.
  6. If the computer has finished the search and there is no such file in the window, it means that the file was not found. In this case (if you do not have a hard drive other than [C:]), you will have to repeat the download process.

Why is My Monitor Fuzzy and the Color Unclear?

In order to set your monitor (PC screen) to the required setting, follow these easy steps:

  1. Place the mouse cursor anywhere on the Desktop (but not on an icon).
  2. Press the right mouse button.
  3. Go to "Properties".
  4. Go to "Settings".
  5. In "Desktop Area" move the arrow until you see "600 X 800 pixels".
  6. Under "Colors" choose "High Color (16 bit)" or more.
  7. Press "OK" or "Apply".
  8. Press "OK" to accept the new settings.
  9. Re-connect to the Internet and Pacific Poker. You should be able to view our program correctly.

Don't worry, these settings will not harm any applications on your computer. If you wish to return to your original settings when you are finished playing, simply repeat the instructions again and choose your preferred monitor resolution.
